Some More Details

After leaving my last 9-5 job in the fall of 2022, where I worked for almost 7 years, I decided I needed a change of pace. What would that look like? Freelancing? Underwater basket weaving? Moving to the country and never touching a computer again (I was pretty burnt out when I left)? I took a few months of “sabbatical” with my husband and daughter to step back and decide if I even liked proramming anymore, if I had any passion left for solving problems.

It turns out I still do, to both of those questions. Whew!

But what to do next? That’s what this blog/pseudo-portfolio is about: exploration of what’s next, and an attempt to combine some of my favorite things: technology and writing. I’ve always loved writing, but it was never something I’ve done seriously since a long-ago stint as a baking blogger (which I loved, but didn’t have the time to dedicate to earlier in my tech career).

So that’s where I’m at. Writing about my technical exercises and projects, my occasional opinions on management (I was a technical manager for several years), and taking on an occasional freelancing job.
